They explore storytelling, local embodied wisdom, money, ambition, global narrative, sixth-chakra consciousness, and the possibility that their work is not to “help” Sri Lanka from the outside, but to listen deeply enough to discover what the land, people, and life itself are asking of them.* **Chapter 1 — Why Are We Here?** **Max:**So we’re discussing the role of Sri Lanka in the next chapter for us. As we discuss our own incubation, our own isolation, etc., there comes this question of, like, **what about where we are?** Which sounds quite simple, but it’s funny, actually. Lydia has a lot to say. **LuLu:**Yeah. It’s like everything in life is—all of the details that are in our circumstances are there for a reason. It’s something, it’s an opportunity, it’s something to be utilized, it’s something to engage with. And if we’re here in Sri Lanka, *why are we here?* Why are we here in the village that we’re in, living with the people that we’re living with? And I think the answer is, A, to learn from them, and probably to share the stories of their lives and their childhood and the wisdom that they have available in their bodies. It’s a way that we can share their wisdom with the world, and simultaneously a way that we can give back to them in the form of sharing these stories. Maybe it changes the perspective that a lot of Westerners have when they come here. Instead of seeing them as these people that are there to make them their breakfast and rent them a room, they engage with them as people with a profound intelligence and body wisdom that these people visiting do not have. **Chapter 2 — Is Sri Lanka the Template?** **Max:**And we’re wondering if whatever role that this place plays—is it a sort of template? Is it the same template that we’re going to take with us when we go to Indonesia, the same template that we’re going to take with us when we go to Morocco, or is it just going to be different every time? And does that make us **the problem or the solution?** This is what I don’t know. It’s this strange conflict within me right now. It’s like left side versus right side of my body. It’s like problem versus solution. You know, by doing this purely electrically and not, like, giving back in some very physical way, are we just the same shit copy-pasted, disconnected, electrical—you know, even though we see it, we’re not acting on it kind of thing—in a meaningful way? Or are we playing some role that is, I don’t know how to put this, but, like, *supernatural and beyond the environment we’re in, but in the all?* This is the question. In which case, our greatest service to this place is unifying it with the all versus, like, serving here as a separated unit. As the all, we instead, like, kind of zoom out bigger—which, I mean, sounds cunty just to say to me. **Chapter 3 — The Western Idea of Helping** **LuLu:**Something that I feel to be true—which is a very big confusion for a lot of people—I feel it is true that us helping the people here and helping the place here and being of service to the people and the place here **is not giving them money.** I feel that this is the confusion of a lot of people, a lot of Westerners who come here, and they’re like, *“Oh, I gave them money.”* And it’s like, that is exactly the confusion of the West. The confusion of the West believes that money is helpful and that money is a solution to everything. And that is the problem. And if anything, it’s like an infection. Like, if Western people come here and spread their education and spread their money and spread their way of doing life, thinking that they are helping them, they are spreading an infection to this place. And I had a conversation with a Western girl today who was really of this mindset, like, *“Oh, I’m teaching my local staff to be ambitious and to have dreams and to start companies,”* and to basically perpetuate the problem that has taken over Europe. She was patting herself on the back for teaching them this way of thinking. **Chapter 4 — Zoom Out** **Max:**And the issue is, from a local perspective, that’s great, actually. Like, if you are here, living here, and you give the locals an opportunity to a better life, you’ve made the place better. **Zoom out.** Which is this conversation: zoom out. This is where all of these paradoxes exist. And so it’s a continuing question with continuing answers, I guess. But, you know, if we—instead of teaching one by one—we shift the global narrative, is that better? I’ve been arguing the last days it is. That that is the better method. If six is the way that the vast majority of the world is functioning through, then we shift through sixth chakra. Like, sixth chakra is about—it’s about intellect and separation and identification and understanding. If we give people that, then they can make more meaningful decisions in every aspect and more relevance, versus if we teach locals to make more money. Like, ah, fuck. You know, it’s this strange thing: **actually, we’re perpetuating the machine.** It’s quite strange. And I’m not saying we’re going to do that. We’re not going to teach locals to make money. Like, two points at this. One is, if you improve someone’s sixth chakra, sixth chakra plugs into all of the other chakras. So you do actually get a global improvement in someone’s actions. This is the strange thing: that you were born, as I’ve been told, with one and six. So you immediately improve anybody through six. The second point, which I’ll talk on later, is simply that— I’ll talk on it later. **Chapter 5 — Wi-Fi for Consciousness** **LuLu:**Improving somebody’s six, I think, is very similar to giving someone access to Wi-Fi. And it could be used really well or it could be really devastating. But something that feels very true for me, that I’ve noticed in my life, has to do with this, like, commitment that I’ve made to Earth and Mata consciousness. And it’s this thing, this agreement that I made with life, basically, that **life will not allow me to do anything that is out of alignment for me.** Things just don’t work. It’s very trippy and very bizarre. But since I made that covenant with life, it’s like, things will not fucking work if it’s not in alignment. **Chapter 6 — What Does the Land Want?** **LuLu:**And so I think, in many ways, this is what we’re going to be seeing in this question of, like: *Why are we here?* And what is the correct way of engaging with the place here? And what does true service look like? True service to the people here and to the place here, to the land here, to the Earth here. **What is the thing that nature wants to happen here?** I think we will discover quite quickly, because it won’t allow us to do the wrong thing. **Max:**And with that, it is time for us to nourish our bodies.
