**Speaking with Nature**

*Walking from ancient cave-houses into a silent field, Max and LuLu explore what it would mean to ally with nature so completely that its intelligence, resources, boundaries, and voice move through them.*

**From the Caves to the Field**

**Max:** We’re looking at a massive field. We just walked out of hundreds—or tens of hundreds of thousand-year-old—houses, and we walk up to an absolutely levelled field that goes on like a kilometre in every direction.

Yeah, I’m calling them houses. We call them caves in the modern world, but it’s just this dead, dried-up soil with deer-hunting little things on it, some windmills. It’s just dead quiet—not in a good way.

That guy’s doing jump squats. Very odd.

We were just talking about a man who I’d met, who had a really bad rep, but he lived in nature very simply for much of the year. When it got too cold, he would go where it was warm.

He inherited money, so he didn’t ever have to work. But the person who gave it to him set it up in instalments, so for the rest of his life he received like two thousand a month. He could never cash out.

Then he had this piece of land, which was not big, but it was land. It was enough that he could fuck around and be left alone.

He lived out there, and he had an Instagram handle called *Tending Nature*. He was this spicy guy that talked about everyone being bad. It was so interesting.

I wonder if this guy had tapped into this lineage, because it was his grandmother who had given him this land. It was through the mother lineage that he inherited this possibility.

He was quite odd. A very, very dirty man, long dreadlocks, but bright eyes and super, super sharp. Just smoked a lot of weed.

Lydia was talking about this idea of—what were you talking about, Lu?

**Allied With Earth**

**LuLu:** I was just tapping into Earth consciousness slash Mata consciousness.

It’s a little bit abstract and a little bit like a story rather than hyper-rational, but I was just saying: when we really choose to ally with nature and Earth consciousness—and this metronome of truth that keeps the cosmos in a certain geometry and unfolding in a certain way—it allies with us.

We can know that when we are speaking on behalf of it, when we are choosing to speak on behalf of Mata, that there will always be resources. There will always be support.

But also, when life gets hectic and crazy, it’s really just the boundaries of nature creating a funnel and a vortex to push us toward—Max would call it a zenith—something of a higher potential.

**Max:** If you’re tending nature, nature tends you. Lydia references that, and it makes total sense. Total sense.

**LuLu:** Right. And if what we’re doing here is on behalf of nature, you have all the trees supporting you, and all the bushes and all the fungus and all the bugs, like, *“Hey, if you support us, we support you.”*

**Staying in the Human Role**

**Max:** I learned this when I was living two years in the bush. If you play your role as you’re supposed to—which is a human—they’re not expecting you to be an animal. You are a human. They will take care of you.

I was not bothered. I was not attacked. I was left alone.

If I stepped outside of my role, then nature had a problem with it. Then they need to kind of shove you off.

**LuLu:** I was specifically reminded—I’m not a religious person, but I grew up reading a lot of religious texts—of some of the prophets in the Old Testament, in the Torah, and some of the craziest fucking outlandish things that they would say.

They would go to kings and say, *“You need to do this, and if you don’t do this, this crazy cataclysmic thing is going to happen.”*

They said it with so much fucking certainty because they knew that they were allied with divinity. I’m uniting these concepts of divinity and nature to be one thing. I don’t see them as separate things.

They could say these crazy things with this certainty because they were unified with this truth. They were speaking from this place of: *“I am a spokesperson of divinity. I am truly allied with it. It speaks through me. It lives and breathes through me.”*

And when I say, *“If you do not do this thing and change your ways, then a fucking hurricane is going to come,”* when I say it, it will happen because I am nature. And that’s why it happens.

It wasn’t necessarily like, *“Oh, God told me that a hurricane is going to come, and so it comes.”* It’s like, yes—and because it comes out of my mouth, and I speak it with the vibrations of my mouth, and these sound waves come through my body, which is unified with truth and nature, it happens.

They speak it into existence.

That’s when you know you’re allied with truth: when the natural world responds to you.

**You Are the Clouds**

**Max:** When you are nature.

**LuLu:** Yeah.

**Max:** I think people—a bunch of six-chakra folk just walked by—the six-chakra folk have made it seem through scholarship that you must damn nature to be overpowered over it. You always have to succeed through the system.

You have to become so in tune with nature, so alive with nature, so in love with nature, so nature, that then you are the nature thing that makes the shift.

You are the clouds. You’re not commanding the clouds. You are the clouds.

**LuLu:** Right. You are the rain. You are the Earth.

When people say Moses parted the sea—if that’s true—he was the sea. It’s not like he went up and said, *“Sea, you must move.”* He was just like, *“Hey, I gotta walk through here,”* and fucking it moved, and he walked through.

**Max:** Yeah. You hear of these Native American—I don’t know what their communities consider them to be, guides, shamans, or maybe just normal fucking people in the community—but they call them rainmakers.

They would go up to the fucking cliffs when they needed rain, when there had been a drought, and they would be like, *“We need fucking rain.”* They would sing or speak, and it would begin to rain.

Exactly that—because they are the clouds. They experience the clouds as no fucking different from their hand or their feet.

If you tell your feet, *“Hey, I want to take a step,”* what does it do? It fucking takes a step. It’s not that crazy. It’s not magic. It’s just part of your body.

Of course my nervous system connects from my fucking spine down into my feet. So if I want to wiggle my toes, unless that connection is severed through an injury, guess what? My fucking toes are going to wiggle if I think, *“Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.”*

Why would it be any different from a sea or a cloud?

If it is part of your nervous system, I think the only difficult part is: how do you really get to that point where the cloud and the sea are part of your nervous system, or connected to your nervous system, and you are connected to their nervous system?

So stay in this blog and you will find out. That is what we do here.

*Dun dun dun. Dun dun dun. Dun dun dun.*

**LuLu:** A bird also added, *“Dun dun dun.”*

**Max:** Yeah. Yeah.

**Taking Nature Back Out**

**Max:** It’s interesting. It’s a very different style, which is much easier when you’re in the forest to have this.

And it’s funny: I had this image while I was sitting here that I’ve been in this exact situation—on the edge of a field, walking through nature with someone, trying to have these conversations—for ten, fifteen years. Ten years especially.

And it never got far because they always just wanted to get super high, or we didn’t have enough protein, or it just didn’t work.

It’s funny now that I’m sitting here with someone and it is happening. The other thing that I wanted to have happen is happening now.

My response is a very calm nervous system, which I didn’t expect to be the response of it. And we’re mic’d up, and we’re sharing it to the world. It has a conduit out. It’s not a dead system, which I find really fascinating.

It’s not just a conversation with the trees, which is super cool. But then when you leave the trees, you go back to the world and you’re in trouble.

Although we’re going to do that, we’re doing it armoured with the thing here. We have found a way to take the thing here and put it out there.

We are capturing nature right now, and we’re going to deposit it into humanity, which Lydia’s been telling me we must do. And I’ve been like, *“But this is exactly that.”*

Being out here, being in nature, capturing the vibrations and sounds of nature that are flowing through us—we’re capturing them on an audio device, and then we’re going to put them out into the unnatural world. It’s going to help harmonise that world with natural frequency and energetics.

All these metronome sounds that you can get, and you just listen to 428 hertz all over—it’s like, yes, also, why don’t you be 428 hertz and then just speak? Why not just be there? That makes a lot more sense to me.

Lydia just tried to give me a foot five. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do your dance on my roots. Ooh, I know you love that shit. Do your dance on my roots.

Make it a love, get down tonight.

Good.

**LuLu:** What time are we at?

**Max:** A lot.

**LuLu:** Okay, let’s pause.

**Letting Nature Into the Record**

**Max:** Right out of your moment of silence into this one. Listen.

We’re talking about how we want to make sure that we listen to nature too, and include the sounds of nature in it.

In the future, because we’re doing audio now, this is saved audio. We will have the audio recordings. Everyone else gets the transcript, so we’ll be able to come back and hear the inflection of voice, the laughter, the giggles.

I think it’ll be very rich for us to hear that—and the pauses. The transcript doesn’t transcribe that.

**LuLu:** There’s a few things. I’m just here with the trees and listening to what they’re saying, and they’re telling me this question of: *How would we do that? How is it that you unite your nervous system with the nervous system of Earth?*

One of these things has been sleeping on the Earth. Another thing is peeing into the Earth and depositing your DNA, leaving your DNA on the leaves, on the trunks of trees.

There’s also this notion of diversity. There’s this tree that’s telling me how much more resilient it is because there’s ivy growing on it and around it, and now it has become this composite entity. It’s more resilient because of this ivy.

So it’s this idea of when we ally with—when we infuse ourselves into—diversity among plants and animals and creatures, and different types of humans, types of humans who think differently than us.

That’s one of the things that unifies our nervous system with Earth and nature.
