**When Nature Settles the Score**

*During live bodywork, a release in Max’s arm reopens an old belief: that nature is too powerful to require human protection and will simply destroy us if necessary. The conversation turns toward the difference between exploiting the feminine wellspring and developing enough masculine and feminine awareness to replenish, protect, and defend it.*

**Chapter I — Back to Bodywork**

**Max:** We’re back to bodywork, per the standards.

This is the 300th bodywork series, and we’ll be doing 3,000 more.

So, I was just getting my feminine root worked on—which I should probably be doing as well on Lydia if we’re going to talk about feminine-root stuff.

I had one big release in my left arm, as you probably saw. My shoulder twitched out, and I was thinking about a past relationship with the most feminine woman I’d known at that time.

And, in that she was very feminine, she said, *“We can’t use plastic.”* She said, *“We’ve got to use jars. Plastic is destroying the world.”*

I remember I didn’t fight her because we were so young. I was in my early twenties. I just said, *“You don’t have to worry about nature. Nature is vastly too powerful. If ever nature gets set out of whack, it’ll settle the score. It’ll bring hurricanes or anything, kill everybody, and then we’ll start off again. You don’t have to worry about nature.”*

And when I did that—when I was like, *“Oh, fuck. Maybe I was wrong”*—that’s when that release came.

**Chapter II — Without the Feminine Root, You Have No Idea**

**Max:** Potentially, without feminine root—which I probably had almost no root at the time—without feminine root, it doesn’t even come in as vegan and la-la-la, love-and-light.

Without a feminine root, **you would have no idea. You would have no idea.**

Maybe Lydia’s feminine root is because of her mother, or because of the trials of her teenage years that activated feminine root for her. But many women don’t have it. They just don’t have that capacity.

It’s funny—you don’t have the ability to speak on things when I’m giving you bodywork.

**LuLu:** I don’t have the ability to speak on things when I’m getting bodywork.

**Max:** No, it’s weird. At least not right now. Try to speak on anything. Your tissue release is so slow normally.

**Chapter III — Earth Is Not Something to Be Harvested**

**LuLu:** Yeah. It’s a weird thing.

Because you see a lot of people—my dad is one of these people—where Earth is something to be utilized.

I think it goes along with the same mindset that a lot of male humans have had throughout history: that women are a thing to be utilized and harvested from. And when they’re no longer useful to be harvested from, they get tossed aside.

And I think then we’ve really missed the whole point of the feminine principle—and of Earth being this wellspring of wisdom, and life, and capacity.

This thing that houses the capacity to give us infinite wisdom, and potential, and capacity in our body.

It’s a funny way to think of it, because I know a lot of people who talk like this: *“Earth and nature will be fine.”*

And it’s true. I absolutely agree with that.

But **why would you wait for your mother to kill you because you’re being such a disruptive shit?**

Why is that the cycle we live in?

**Chapter IV — The Masculine Uses Until It Breaks**

**Max:** I think the masculine principle does live that way.

That’s how the masculine works: you work it until it doesn’t work, and then you do something different.

And I think, in a human who has both, that’s where the thing comes.

For a man in just masculinity, women are to be used.

For a woman in just femininity, she’s just meant to be a wellspring—a spring or a well that buckets are drawn from—and her job is to fill up.

When you have both, when you feel both—we all have both; we don’t necessarily feel them—there’s a distinct feeling of, *“Oh, there has to be enough.”*

**The well must fill enough so that when buckets are drawn, it doesn’t deplete it.**

Otherwise, we’ve lost the balance. We’ve lost the harmony. We’ve lost capacity.

**Chapter V — Tending and Defending Nature**

**Max:** Someone like Lydia and I—we feel this calling, this tending to nature, I guess, from a masculine perspective.

And from a feminine perspective, maybe it’s actually about taking steps to defend nature. It’s actually doing the things, and not just going, *“Men suck. Men are the end of the world. Let’s just kill all the men.”*

That’s not the answer. That’s not sufficient.

Relax. You’re tightening against me right now.
